Le Marais

Still recovering from our epic trip to Versailles we decided to have a chill day exploring the nearby Marais neighborhood.  We walked across the river through the Île Saint-Louis, stopping at a cute little shop that had delicious cookies, chocolates and caramels.  From there we shopped along the main street in Le Marais, picked up some lunch from a boulangerie and enjoyed it in the beautiful Place des Vosges.

I had a very delicious croissant stuffed with ham and cheese and then smothered in more cheese-yum!   Because it was such a nice Saturday afternoon the Place des Vosges was very crowded.  It was an interesting experience taking pictures because the square is symmetrical.  Even looking at my pictures now it is difficult to tell from where in the square I took them!

Once we finished our lunch we headed to the funky Centre Pompidou to see some modern art and the museum’s cool view of the city.  It was quite hot this day so we had a leisurely walk back to the Latin Quarter, stopping at Berthillion on our way home :-)
