Fall at the Fells

Things were so busy from the end of the summer through the holidays so it’s actually been nice having these snow days to play a little catch up (said like a person who is lucky enough not to have to do any shoveling!). It has also been very therapeutic to be reminded of warmer days filled with sunshine, green grass and colorful leaves on trees. This day spent at the Middlesex Fells Reservation was so much fun-thanks again to my beautiful subjects for always being so willing Can you believe it was dropping into the 60s at the end of this shoot and we started to get a little chilly! What I wouldn’t give for this day now…

Autumn Wedding

When Lauren and Bob asked me to photograph their October wedding, I was honored! They totally lucked out with a beautiful, unseasonably warm day-perfect for some outdoor shots at the DoubleTree Hotel in Bedford before the ceremony. The ceremony and reception were held at the delicious Dayla’s Restaraunt nearby (I highly recommend the risotto, yum!). The whole day was filled with laughter and dancing…and some amazing ice cream sundaes. I was happy to be part of all the fun! Congrats Lauren and Bob

Public Garden Portrait

My friend, the very fashionable Marie of the Twin Living lifestyle blog, recently asked me to shoot some head shots for her. Portraits of a beautiful lady in the Boston Public Garden during the Fall? Yes, yes and yes!!! The late afternoon light was ideal, catching Marie’s pretty hair just right. Even though we had to avoid the crazed squirrels scurrying around us hiding their acorns for the winter, we had a great time. Looking forward to planning a shoot this winter with both Marie and her twin Jenn!

October at Endicott Park

Twins’ Halloween Hike at Broadmoor

I have had the pleasure of taking pictures of Ben & Lily for several years but this shoot melted my heart. Without much prompting they created their own sweet poses, holding hands and hugging with the gorgeous fall color in the background at the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary. I didn’t realize there was this great natural beauty in Natick-or so much of it! The kids were such good sports as we accidentally took them on an extended hike…

The twins even champed out a lot of the walk in their costumes, much to the delight of the other hikers and leaf peepers. Too cute! Hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!

Fall Family Photos at Larz Anderson Park

Last time I visited Larz Anderson Park, the school house was under repairs so I was very excited when I arrived for this shoot and saw the fixed up adorable little red school house-the perfect backdrop for Fall family photos! It was such a beautiful early Fall day, still warm enough to comfortably shoot outside but with the benefit of pretty pops of color in the trees.

We had a lot of fun playing in the leaves with Avi and checking out the gigantic Koi! Baby Mira did a great job for her first family shoot too, her big smiles were contagious. I can’t wait for our next shoot

Senior Portraits

I had a lot of fun taking senior portraits with the beautiful Taylor! We shot around Andover, including the scenic Ward Reservation. The camera loved her gorgeous blue eyes! I’m so jealous of this recent trend of seniors being able to submit their own pictures for the yearbook. Back in my day we all had to go to the local photo studio and all had the same pose, same backdrop, same photos-total snorefest. I would have loved outdoor pictures like Taylor’s in the fading summer sun!

Au Revoir Paris!

We got back from our trip to Normandy in the afternoon so we spent the rest of the day checking off the final things on our must see list. We paid a visit to the Rodin Museum where Rodin’s sculptures were displayed in a beautiful garden surrounding the museum. Walking through the garden was a wonderful way to experience Rodin’s work. From the Rodin Museum we braved the Metro to Montmarte. We popped into a chocolate shop where we got some kouignettes that took the prize for my favorite pastry in Paris! After weighing myself down with baked goods and caramels we climbed our way up to Sacré-Cœur. After climbing the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, Sacré-Cœur didn’t seem that bad at all. We toured the Sacré-Cœur Basilica which sadly didn’t allow photography. You’ll just have to take my word that the inside is stunning! We climbed back down and picked up some dinner at our favorite spot, Monoprix, that we enjoyed at the Jardin du Luxembourg. No evening was complete without another trip to Berthillion!

We spent our last evening on a cruise down the river. It was beautiful to see all the buildings and monuments around the Seine lit up. I decided to take a break from snapping photos and just take it all in and enjoy the moment. I’m glad we waited until the end to take the river cruise-it was a beautiful way to cap off an awesome trip! Until next time Paris….
